Path of the Lemons on the Amalfi Coast

The Sentiero dei Limoni (“Path of Lemons”) is a walking trail of about 3 km that you should not miss on the Amalfi Coast. A walk among the lemons that connects Maiori and Minori that will give you an evocative experience, among scenic views and the pleasant smell of lemon groves.

The Path of the Lemons is a path immersed in nature that connects two of the most famous towns on the Amalfi Coast: Maiori and Minori. In the past, it constituted not only the only overland connection between these two towns but also the only route through which farmers and peasants transported lemons with the help of donkeys.
Therefore, it is easy to understand that the lemon path has a really ancient history and is a genuine treasure for the Amalfi Coast, something really worth seeing.

What to see along the Path of the Lemons

The unique thing about this experience, in addition to having a wonderful view of the Amalfi Coast, thanks to the many terraces, is the opportunity to walk among the lemon groves. The lemon of the Amalfi Coast, known as “Sfusato Amalfitano” is famous for its tapered shape and the very bright color of its peel is a typical local product with which traditional desserts or the famous “limoncello” are made.  
In addition to the lemon groves, typically overhanging the sea, it will be possible to admire numerous vineyards as well as local plants and vegetation.

The trail passes through the village of Torre, a very characteristic little hamlet located halfway between Maiori and Minori that offers wonderful views of the lemon groves.
A viewpoint not to be missed along the lemon path is that of the “Belvedere della mortella” from which Ravello, Atrani and even Amalfi can be observed. The trail also offers thanks to a detour to reach Ravello, a must-see stop on the Amalfi Coast.

Path of the Lemons: useful information and duration

In general, the Path of the Lemons is a fairly easy trail, which can be easily hiked even by inexperienced people or children and is about 3 km long. It consists of ascents and descents (a maximum elevation gain of 140m), steps, terraces with the beautiful landscape of the Amalfi Coast as a background and pergolas full of lemon trees.

The estimated hiking time for a leisurely walk is about two hours.

The recommended time of year to visit the path is between spring and the end of summer, between April and September (taking care to avoid the hottest and hottest months) in order to fully enjoy the flowering of the plants.

How to get to the Path of the Lemons

Getting to the Path of Lemons from Amalfi

Starting from Amalfi, the Path of the Lemons, which has departure from Minori or Maiori, can be reached by SITA buses or ferries. Once in Maiori or Minori, follow the directions given in the appropriate section.

Path of the Lemons: where to park

Where to park in Maiori for the Path of the Lemons

There is no real parking area in Maiori, but it is possible to park in the blue parking stripes that run along the Promenade, both during holidays and weekdays. Should you want to try your luck, there are white parking strips (free of charge) in which to park along Via Chiunzi, obviously you move away from the city center.
